Bio

Councilwoman Spector is the dean of the Baltimore City Council, having served six terms since her appointment in June 1977. She is a graduate of the Baltimore City Public School system and attended Baltimore Hebrew University and the Returning Women program at Goucher College.

She is a member of numerous boards and commissions including the State of Maryland Commission to Review Landlord-Tenant Laws, Baltimore Partnership for Vocational Education, Chimes Maryland Foundation, and Parents for Torah for All Children (PTACH) Advisory Board. Councilwoman Spector is on the Legislative Committee, and a former president, of the Maryland Association of Counties (MACo). She serves on the Deferred Compensation Advisory Committee of the National Association of Counties (NACo) and is the vice president of County Elected Women of Maryland.

Councilwoman Spector is the mother of three married sons and the grandmother of six.
